Rape/Assault
A rape or assault is a terrifying, demeaning, and horrifying experience. A rape victim often strives for years to get over the aftereffects of a sexual assault.

Post-traumatic stress syndrome is a common malady for rape victims, as is a deep distrust of fellow human beings. Any type of violent assault may also result in extensive medical bills. The victim often faces injuries such as the following:

  • Trauma to the head
  • Lacerations
  • Broken bones
  • Sprains, bruises and cuts
  • Psychological trauma

Sources of compensation for an assault or rape victim may include the following:

  • The perpetrator
  • Insurance policies covering the perpetrator (except for policies that explicitly rule out coverage of criminal acts)
  • Premises owners
  • Security companies

A large part of the personal injury legal profession has to do with locating responsible parties and sources of compensation after an injury. At Jacobs & Jacobs, we know where to look for compensation for assault and rape victims. Clients of our law firm are often surprised by where we find coverage — such as through the victim’s homeowner’s insurance.

Call or e-mail our law firm to discuss your injuries or a loved one’s wrongful death. If you are unable to come to our office, we will come to your hospital room or home. We are willing and able to help you and your family through this.
